At TrayAway, we believe that hospitality should be seamless, intuitive, and unforgettable. Our journey began with a simple yet persistent problem—dirty room service trays cluttering hotel hallways, frustrating both guests and hotel staff alike. What started as a frustration quickly turned into a vision for a smarter, cleaner, and more efficient hospitality experience.
Our Founding CEO, Josh Johnston, led Food & Beverage teams for over a decade for Four Seasons Hotels and Hilton Hotels in Jackson Hole, Philadelphia, Miami, St. Louis, Dallas and New Orleans. During this time, he witnessed firsthand the challenges hotel leaders faced with inefficiencies —especially the challenge of tracking and retrieving room service trays. Despite the clear need, there was no viable solution on the market for hotels to resolve this issue.
Determined to improve the status quo, Josh set out to develop a solution that would enhance efficiency, improve guest experiences, and empower hospitality teams. Through Josh’s passion for problem solving, TrayAway was born—an intuitive, tech-driven platform designed to eliminate dirty trays, optimize in-room dining operations, and drive guest satisfaction.
